Travel Grants Intended for Faculty, Graduate Students, and Independent Scholars

Program suspended for review: 2006

Grants are intended for researchers (other than faculty, staff or currently enrolled students of the University of Kansas) who reside beyond commuting distance to Lawrence, to help defray expenses for traveling to and residing in Lawrence. Faculty, graduate students, or independent scholars are eligible to apply.

The length of stay will depend on the applicant's research proposal, but grants generally are intended for visits of up to one week. The amount awarded is based primarily on distance traveled and length of stay at the Spencer Library and typically will be for not less than $250.

Upon completion of their stay, grant recipients are asked to provide a brief (no more than 2-3 pages) statement of their research findings. The recipient agrees that these statements may be quoted in the University Libraries' publications. If the recipient's findings are published, the recipient agrees to cite in the work the support given by this program, to inform the Library of the publication, and provide one copy at no cost to the Spencer Library.
