Travel Grants
Program suspended for review: 2006
Travel grants are available to researchers to consult the holdings of the Kenneth Spencer Research Library
at the University of Kansas, Lawrence.
The Spencer Library's web
site describes many of the strengths of the Library's holdings, which
are found in the Kansas Collection, the
Department of Special Collections, and
the University Archives. Additional information
may be obtained through the Reader Services
Department of the Library.
Grants intended for researchers, faculty, graduate students and independent scholars
The Spencer Travel Grants Committee will award grants on the basis of relevance of the proposal
to the holdings of the Spencer Library, the merits and significance of
the project, and the qualifications of the applicant.
Visiting scholars also
will be eligible to use other collections held by the University of
Kansas Libraries (http://www.lib.ku.edu)
and may wish to extend their visit beyond the period provided for
in the award to visit nearby libraries and archives, including the
Linda Hall Library (http://www.lindahall.org),
the Clendening Library of the History of Medicine (http://clendening.kumc.edu),
and the Kansas State Historical Society Library (http://www.kshs.org),
as well as the Truman (http://www.trumanlibrary.org)
and Eisenhower presidential libraries and museums (http://www.eisenhower.utexas.edu).
