Letter from Elisha
Scott to Charles S. Scott
September 29, 1945
In this letter
to his son, Charles S. Scott, who is serving in the U.S. Army overseas
during World War II, Elisha Scott expresses his hope for better race
relations:
“You will find a different Topeka when you come home from
every angle—more pleasant, race relations better as I view it.
Give my personal regards to the boys. Let me hear from you. Yours truly,
Dad.”
