Billy Q. McCray
Elected from Sedgwick County to the Kansas House in 1966 and to the Kansas Senate in 1972, Mr. McCray, a member of the Democratic Party and employed by the Boeing Company, served in the legislature for eighteen years. When he became director of the Office of Minority Business for the Kansas Department of Economic Development, he resigned from the Legislature in 1984. Two years later, he was elected to the Sedgwick County Commission.
