The Spencer Research Library welcomes all visitors. Staff encourage tours of the North Gallery, which includes the signature feature of the building: a great glass-enclosed book stack and a curtain window that overlooks the Memorial Campanile, Memorial Stadium, and the valley of the Kansas (Kaw) River beyond.

Library gatherings to view special acquisitions and meet distinguished visitors are announced throughout the year.
